Titanic

I found a replica of the "Heart of the Ocean" necklace from the movie Titanic. Amongst the mess in my room, I guess the necklace fell into my camera bag. I found it in there and decided that these pictures HAD TO BE DONE. I found a tiara in the photography room and took this first shot.  The second shot was to "replicate" (in a school friendly way!) the scene from the Titanic where Rose wears the necklace.

ISO: 1600  f/1.8  SS:1/30
I edited the white balance, cropped the photo a bit and turned up the exposure a little.  There wasn't a lot I did to this photo.

ISO: 1600  f/2.5  SS: 1/30
I turned up the exposure, added a "Skin softener" brush, upped the blacks, and used a brush to make the blue in the necklace pop out more. I REALLY like this photo. It's my first shot like this, so I'm kind of proud of it.

Birds and Bees... Well, Birds.

ISO: 400  f/2.8  SS:1/1000

ISO: 400  f/4.0  SS:1/400

ISO: 400  f/5.6  SS:1/250

ISO: 400  f/8.0  SS: 1/100

ISO: 400  f/11.0  SS: 1/60

ISO: 400  f/16.0  SS: 1/25

For my 6 weeks project, I had to make a pathetically elaborate set up just so I could hang this bird cage necklace up in front of a poster I have in my room. I adjusted exposure and adjusted the angles so that the chain is straight up and down. Obviously, the background gets more blurry with a smaller aperture and less blurry with a bigger aperture. It's very pretty.

Water Drops

ISO: 100  f/8.0  SS:1/250

ISO: 100  f/8.0  SS:1/250

ISO: 100  f/8.0  SS:1/250

I used the macro lens and two flashes to get these pictures of water droplets. :)
I changed the white balance on a few of these to change the colors a bit. I love how some of them look like they're pictures during sunrise or sunset.  I cropped a few of them also, but I didn't do much else.

What Is Love?

ISO: 800  f/5.6  SS:1/50

The assignment was to shoot Codei and Megan for a story in TigerTimes over interracial couples. They weren't specific over what they wanted AT ALL, so I ended up shooting them walking down the hallway.  I particularly liked my shot of their hands. I changed the white balance, adjusted the angle, added a black and white filter, added fill light and added a black vignette.

Homecoming?!

ISO: 800  f/1.8  SS:1/250

Aaron Jones asked his girlfriend to Homecoming with a fake wedding-type proposal.  I was stuck with a short aperture lens, but I got a great picture of the actual box! Wish a guy would ask me in a cute way! All I did to this was crop and white balance correct it.

Jump For It!

ISO: 1600  f/4.5  SS: 1/200

ISO:  1600  f/4.5  SS:1/200

ISO: 1600  f/4.0  SS:1/200

I had to shoot a volleyball game against Longview. I'm soo happy with how these turned out! These turned out WAY better than my first volleyball game!  Most of these, all I changed was the white balanced, adjusted the angle and cropped them down.

Dirt Makes Me CUTER!

Skylar is a little girl with the cutest chipmunk cheeks and a huge personality!

ISO: 100  f/4.0  SS: 1/40
Skylar started dancing to the music an local folk band was playing. I cropped this photo a bit. I should've cropped the little corner out, but I felt like the photo would be too close in without it. I turned up the exposure a bit and white balanced.

ISO: 400  f/4.0  SS: 1/80
Skylar was swinging on the rail. I cropped this photo a little bit.

ISO: 1000  f/4.0  SS:1/40
I really like how this photo came out. The first was the original and the second is after some serious editing. I love both. I added a black/white filter, a black vignette, added an iris enhancement and played with exposure on different parts of the picture.

The Colors of Calico

I took this photos in Calico Rock, Arkansas. It was a small town that just oozed southern charm. It was old fashioned but it had a huge personality.

ISO: 1000  f/4.0  SS: 1/250
This is of Casey's grandmother quilting. We walked into small store/museum and they had a project set up where you could work on the quilt. Her grandma sat down and started working on it, and I realized how brilliantly this captured the essence of the town.  I cropped this photo, white balanced and added the
"Bleach Bypass" filter.

ISO: 1600  f/4.0  SS: 1/8
I found these peacock feathers in the same store and thought they were beautiful. I love the depth of field in this picture. I cropped this photo, upped the exposure and added the Color CP 2 filter.

ISO: 400  f/4.0  SS:1/8000
This was taken in the "ghost town." There was an old, overgrown mill and this was sitting in front of it. I have no idea what that thing does, but it made for a cool shot. I upped the exposure and fill light, and then I added the "Aged Photo" filter. I can't really decide if I like it with the filter or not, but without it, the picture looked so boring. So there it is!

ISO: 400  f/3.2  SS:1/640
I'm okay with this photo. I feel like it's kind of a boring shot, but it's my first attempt playing with leading lines. The sky was really bright. I should've taken down my ISO way more. I was thinking because it was overcast I might need to bring it up, but it still turned out really bright. I'll need to figure it out.
For this photo, I took down the exposure a bit and cropped it.

ISO: 100  f/4.0  SS: 1/20
The house that this sign was on had a cool story to it. It was built completely by hand, but it was made a bit.. well, bad. You can see that the door is crooked and the roof is tilted. But it it's a cute house. Someone lived there until a few years ago when the owner died.
This photo was cropped and the exposure was turned up a bit.

SUCCESS!

These are my favorite shots from Texas VS Jacksonville. I'm especially proud of these pictures because I pulled these off without flash and a super old lense. :) My goal for the game was to get eyes, get the ball, and get their numbers. I'm sooo happy with how my photos turned out!

ISO: 1000  f/2.8  SS:1/500
I'm especially proud of this picture because it's my first really good picture this year! I really love that I was at least able to get their numbers and ball in the picture, and I love the depth of field. I wish I could've gotten their eyes, but hey. The only editing I did to this picture was white balance.

ISO: 1000  f/2.8  1/400
I love this picture because you can see his eyes and the depth of field is great. The exposure turned out great, too. I really like that because... well, he's got dark skin, and up to this point, I couldn't figure out how to properly expose for that. The only edit I made to this picture was a small crop.

ISO: 1000  f/3.2  SS:1/250
This was the final touchdown of the game! I achieved all my goals on this picture! I love the depth of field, that you can see his eyes, his number, and he has the ball! Plus, there's a motion blur on his arm, but he's still in focus. I made a large crop to this photo and adjusted the exposure a bit. I'm super proud of this picture. :) I really hope I can keep getting shots like this.
I would really hate it if this was just beginner's luck!

WA-CHA!

ISO: 100  f/6.3  SS:1/250

I really loved this exercise, and I'm pretty pleased with how this picture turned out. Despite the terrible flash lighting, I like the position of the subjects. It was a failed attempt at a fight scene, BUT it still turned out okay. I was also really happy to discover that my timing has improved! Especially since your (Smith's) comment at the football game was that I needed to work on my timing! (;
I didn't make any edits to this picture.

Illumination

ISO: 100  f/5.6  SS: 30.0

I went home and used my glass figure of a dolphin to practice painting with light. I ran the light around the edges of the figure and light up behind it. I think this is an interesting picture, but I definitely need a little more practice with where to put the light.
I used the brush tool to brighten the blue spots and darken the black spots and I cropped it.

Look At The Bright Side

ISO:400   F/4.0  SS:1/320

I really like this photo, however, I don't like that the background is a bit brighter than the subject. I like the position and her face is well lit, but I think I should have shot this from a different position so the background isn't so bright.
